As you consider your choices for your Annual Giving, please remember what the Society for Freshwater Science (SFS) has meant to you and the field of freshwater science, and help strengthen it with a gift!

SFS Leadership, in partnership with the many society volunteers who serve on critical committees, have been generating exciting plans to grow and strengthen key initiatives, and create new programs in 2019 and beyond. Please consider directed giving to these designated funds in support of special initiatives:

  • SFS INSTARS Program to increase the participation and mentorship of undergraduate freshwater scientists from under-represented groups.
  • Graduate Student Fund to support enrichment and education through travel grants, research funds, and unique educational opportunities.
  • Early Career Travel Fund to facilitate the participation of this dynamic sector as they begin their careers; funds are especially needed to support travel to SFS 2021 in Brisbane Australia, our 1st meeting outside of North America!

Gifts can also be made to undesignated Directed Giving to support SFS operations and activities or to the SFS General Endowment Fund, which enables continued funding of competitive awards including named awards, primarily in support of graduate student research.

SFS is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt nonprofit and we are committed to the careful stewardship of the generous gifts made by members like you.

For your support now and in future, we thank you.
